Make the most of the opportunity to go fishing and relax by the water. Hire a bike and explore the lakeside countryside or take a trip to the beach, which is about 20 km away. A holiday surrounded by nature!

The park has a playground where children can let off steam. In warm weather, the lake offers a refreshing dip and boat trips can be taken directly from the cottage. Children can get up close to the animals at the nearby farms. Even in bad weather, the nearby Fryslân Nature Museum offers an experience for children.

Fireworks policy
In the Netherlands, private fireworks are banned and you are not permitted to set off any kind of fireworks. The park does not carry out checks, so we cannot guarantee a completely quiet and fireworks-free night. The region is home to the traditional ‘carbide shooting’ festival, a New Year’s Eve tradition that is also listed as intangible cultural heritage. It is also possible that fireworks may be set off in the immediate vicinity of the park.
