Located on the Dutch waters of North Holland, you will find a beautiful holiday park where you will have a wonderful holiday. Where whisper ships used to pass by, is now the ideal holiday destination where West Frisian culture still runs through the blood.
Facilities at EuroParcs Markermeer
At EuroParcs Markermeer, you do nothing but enjoy natural and cultural surroundings. The cottages are comfortable and modern, so you won't be short of anything. Enjoy your breakfast in the morning while overlooking the Markermeer. In spring, you can enjoy paddling in the lake and if the sunshine permits, it is even possible to swim here. Fishing enthusiasts will also have a great time at this park. Cast your fishing rod and enjoy the peace and quiet around you. For small holidaymakers, there are several outdoor playgrounds with climbing equipment.
Restaurant Markermeer
During the day, you can go to the park's snack bar for a quick snack. In need of a fine meal? Then we advise you to visit the centre of Bovenkarspel. Here you will find various cosy pubs and restaurants where you can enjoy a pleasant evening. Of course, you can also choose to get some groceries at the local supermarket and enjoy a home-cooked meal from your waterside terrace.
Surroundings Markermeer
For nature lovers, it feels like coming home. The wooded landscape invites you for long walks and cycle rides. For culture, too, this is the place to be. Not far from the park you will find old West Frisian towns such as Enkhuizen (3 km) and Medemblik (18 km). Get in the car (or on your bike) and visit the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen. You can also choose to hire a boat here and take to the water (a day's sailing does wonders!). From Enkhuizen, take the traditional steam train to Medemblik and visit the Dutch Steam Engine. Continue your route to The Old Bakery and discover the arts of this ancient craft. Those who are lucky will go home with a piece of speculaas. To finish the day, visit Radboud Castle. If you still have time left, you can take the steam train to Hoorn. However, you can also save this city for the next day!
