On the Dutch waters of North Holland you will find a beautiful holiday park where you can enjoy a wonderful holiday. Where the whispering ships used to sail past, you will now find the ideal holiday destination where West Frisian culture is still in the blood.
Facilities at EuroParcs Markermeer
At EuroParcs Markermeer you do nothing but enjoy the natural and cultural surroundings. The holiday homes are comfortably and modernly furnished, so you will want for nothing. Enjoy your breakfast in the morning with a view of the Markermeer. In spring you can paddle on the lake and even swim if the weather is fine. Anglers also get their money's worth in this park. Cast out your fishing rod and enjoy the peace and quiet around you. There are several outdoor playgrounds with climbing equipment for younger holidaymakers.
Restaurant Markermeer
During the day, you can enjoy a snack in the park's snack bar. Fancy a good meal? Then we recommend a visit to the centre of Bovenkarspel. Here you will find various cosy pubs and restaurants where you can spend a pleasant evening. Of course, you can also shop at the local supermarket and enjoy a home-cooked meal from your terrace by the water.
The surroundings of Markermeer
For nature lovers, it's like coming home. The wooded landscape is perfect for long walks and bike rides. But this is also the right place for culture lovers. Not far from the park you will find old West Frisian towns such as Enkhuizen (3 km) and Medemblik (18 km). Get in the car (or on your bike) and visit the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen. You can also hire a boat here and get out on the water (a day's sailing works wonders!). From Enkhuizen, take the traditional steam railway to Medemblik and visit the Dutch steam engine. Continue your journey to the Old Bakery and discover the art of this ancient craft. If you're lucky, you'll go home with a piece of speculoos. To round off the day, visit Radboud Castle. If you still have time, you can take the steam train to Hoorn. You can also save this city for the next day!
