The camping La Roche d'Ully is located in the heart of the Loue valley, between the Doubs and the Jura mountains, in the town of Ornans. It is an ecological site that welcomes you in a natural setting. Outside, you can enjoy the pleasures of swimming with its heated and covered pool. The establishment also has an indoor pool. For the comfort and well-being of visitors, the site offers sauna or hammam sessions.
In July and August, the animators of the campsite La Roche d'Ully offer many activities for children and adults. You can participate in hiking, petanque, trampoline. The campers benefit from well-being and botanical courses every season. A Children's Club will supervise your children from 3 to 12 years old.
The restaurant is open every day and offers local dishes. You will find a grocery store and sanitary facilities accessible to people with reduced mobility. On arrival, the holidaymakers will have at their disposal a quality reception service.

Camping and rental packages include entry to the Nautiloue water park in Ornans. This water park has two indoor and outdoor pools. The indoor pools are heated to 28°C. For your information, swimming shorts are not permitted and you must shower before swimming.

Missing shade and personal touch

We made a last minute reservation and arrived after a long, hot day drive. At check in we were give a tent spot, reserved for disabled person, across from the playground next to a bouncy castle. While we are not disabled and asked for a quite spot. It was mentioned that this was the only spot still... available.
When I returned to the check-in desk and expressed my dissatisfaction with the assigned sport and mentioned that when there is really nothing else, we would leave. We were all of a sudden given 4 different options to choose from, all in a much better area of the campground.
Anyway, we found a spot that had a little bit of shade. Most others had no shade at all. Spots were on the small side but doable.
Campground and toilet area were slightly dirty and the entire impression of the campground did not really give a sense of an ecological, nature orientated campground.
The swimming pool is nice, but it also creates a lot of noise.

All was fine except there was no prior notice when booking of events happening in the space just outside the site. When we were there music went on till late and loudspeaker announcements from 6am. Worth checking if possible

A good site for an overnight stop

Reception closed 12.00 to 17.00 - if closed on arrival choose a pitch and let reception know when they are open. Restaurant only open for breakfast and lunch – closed in the evening.
Many pitchers are very large with both electricity (10 amp) and individual water connections. Should the electric... trip this can only be re-set via reception. All pitches are screened by bushes – few trees so little shade. Unfortunately due to the recent inclement weather many pitches were waterlogged / muddy. The pitch we chose was level and easy to access. All pitches were in need of having grass and hedges cut. Many statics and tents around the site.
Very clean toilet block. Free WiFi around reception / restaurant area. Very pleasant and helpful owners – speak very good English. Free access to local swimming / leisure pool complex (Subject to times). Very quiet during the day and especially at night.
Local town has Super U supermarket and garage for diesel / petrol. Access roads to site through mountain roads with several hairpin bends – caution is required. If using sat nav recommend first checking access via Google Earth as sat navigations may direct to incorrect site using impossible roads!
Very popular with British / German / Belgian and Dutch touring motorhomes / caravans. Accepts both ACSI and Camping Cheques giving reduced site fees (except high season).

Reception / staff:
- very friendly and helpfull people at the reception
- Dutch speaking animation team for the children.
Accomodations:
- nice playground for children. Even little ones can play here.
- swimming pool next door with indoor and outdoor pool. So even when the weather is not good, you... can go swimming.
- Sanitary: very clean showers and toilets.
Environment:
- you stay in the middle of the Jura mountains. So very nice view.
- Ornans is a nice town and you can go by foot. It's about a 10 min. walk
When you are there during high season, most people are Dutch. So you get a small idea of being the Netherlands instead of France :-)
