Camping Ca' Savio ^★★★

A really lovely stay with everything you need on site for a brilliant family holiday, and Venice is right on the doorstep and easily accessible by boat (30 minutes).
The only downsides we found were:
- It’s a very large campsite, and when you’re pitched right at the back, it takes a long time to get to the various facilities (it took us nearly 20–25 minutes on foot to reach the entertainment area, the campsite shop, etc.); the fact that the main road is also a pedestrian zone doesn’t help with traffic flow.
- Lack of information regarding the parking spaces allocated to the various mobile homes. Worried about damaging the car given the difficult access, a fellow camper helped us find a parking space. When we spoke to the campsite staff, we were told that this was the responsibility of the operator, Homair… We came across other tourists in the same predicament, as the parking spaces (one per mobile home) are scattered all over the place and sometimes not actually right next to the mobile home.
- On two evenings we had problems with the electricity cutting out (with two lights on, the oven on and the pay-per-use air conditioning running) and when we rang the operator as requested by the campsite, the first time we were told someone would be sent out and everything went smoothly; the second time we were told it wasn’t the operator’s responsibility – it felt as though they were passing the buck.
- One final negative point: nobody speaks French, including the staff representing the operator on site, and all the entertainment is in Italian.
We would nevertheless recommend this very clean and well-equipped campsite, and the negative points didn’t stop us from having a lovely stay!
