Thanks to its waterside location, you can enjoy a wide range of water sports here, whilst the vast natural surroundings are perfect for lovely walks and cycle rides. You’ll stay in a comfortable chalet, a detached villa by the water or a unique glamping accommodation. With a heated outdoor swimming pool and various sports facilities, Landal Hunzepark offers a lovely combination of relaxation and adventure.

Facilities at Landal Hunzepark

At Landal Hunzepark, it’s all about the great outdoors. The holiday park is situated on a recreational lake where you can go fishing, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding or take a trip on a pedal boat. There are also plenty of opportunities to get active on dry land. Play a game of tennis, beach volleyball or table tennis and enjoy the green surroundings. Fancy exploring the area? Then hire a bike or an e-bike and discover the beautiful routes through the Drenthe countryside.

Facilities for children at Landal Hunzepark

There’s plenty for children to do at Landal Hunzepark too. In the playground, the little ones can climb, scramble and play on the various play equipment. Older children can let off steam with a game of table tennis or beach volleyball. In addition, the recreational lake offers plenty of opportunities to get out on the water with the family. Why not hire a canoe or pedal boat and explore the surroundings from the water? On warm days, the outdoor swimming pool provides extra water fun.

Landal Hunzepark Swimming Pool

During the warmer months, you can enjoy a lovely swim in the heated outdoor swimming pool at Landal Hunzepark. Swim a few lengths, take a dive from the diving board or whizz down the family slide. Surrounding the swimming pool is a sunbathing area where you can relax and enjoy the sun. The outdoor swimming pool is open seasonally, usually from May to early September. Outside this period, guests can use the indoor water park at the nearby Hunzedal Holiday Park free of charge.

Landal Hunzepark Restaurant

For a quick bite or a tasty snack, head to the HunzeCafé at Landal Hunzepark. During the season, you can enjoy chips and a variety of snacks here. When the weather is fine, you can take a seat on the terrace overlooking the canoe pond. It’s a lovely spot to relax after an active day whilst enjoying the surroundings. Please note that opening times vary depending on the season.

Surroundings of Landal Hunzepark

The area around Landal Hunzepark is perfect for lovers of nature, culture and adventure. The holiday park is situated on the Hondsrug, a unique nature reserve known for its hunebeds, forests and extensive cycling and walking routes. Pay a visit to the Hunebedcentrum in Borger or take a unique walk along the Boomkroonpad, where you can explore nature from the treetops. Drentsche Aa National Park and the Hart van Drenthe nature reserve are also wonderful destinations for an active day in the great outdoors. Fancy a fun family day out? Then visit WILDLANDS Adventure Zoo in Emmen or enjoy an adventurous day at Slagharen Amusement Park. The area offers plenty of variety for young and old alike.

Outdoor swimming pool

The outdoor swimming pool is open from mid-May to mid-September, although this may be subject to change depending on the weather. When the pool is closed (from mid-September to mid-May), guests can use the swimming pool at Hunzedal Holiday Park (a 15-minute drive away).

Facilities temporarily closed

The facilities are closed every year from the last weekend in October until a week before Easter. During this period, only the reception is open on Mondays and Fridays.

A maximum of 3 properties per booking

A maximum of 3 properties can be booked in a single booking. It is possible to book more than 3 properties in a single booking.

Bookings involving multiple accommodation options are only guaranteed once you have received an invoice from the park.

Group deposits

If it appears that the travelling party does not form a family, it will be charged an additional deposit. The additional group deposit is paid by the guest in accordance with the agreements made.

Free cancellation within 3 days is only possible if the booking is made more than 45 days before arrival.

Fireworks policy

In the Netherlands, private fireworks are banned and you are not allowed to set off any kind of firework. The park does not carry out checks, so we cannot guarantee a completely quiet and firework-free night. The region is home to the traditional ‘carbide shooting’ festival, a New Year’s Eve tradition that is also listed as intangible cultural heritage. It is also possible that fireworks may be set off in the immediate vicinity of the park.

The cottage wasn’t clean. The hob was only half-functional. They don’t organise any entertainment, but I didn’t need any anyway. Because of the students, I wasn’t able to use the facilities either. You didn’t send the Landal information in advance that was needed to start the stay.

The accommodation was very dirty on arrival and the shower drain wouldn’t clear.
The campsite had a swimming pool for the kids and you could hire things like pedalos, stand-up paddleboards or canoes, but that was about it.

'- The location of the cottage (219) is really bad. A black metal wall right in front of you. On both other sides, the bushes are too tall and block the view a bit.
- It’s a nuisance that you can’t get to the cottage by car, not even just to load and unload.
- A right faff with those trolleys. Having to fetch the key and bring it back. Not enough trolleys. The key went missing. What a faff.
- The spot where you had to park the car was very unfortunate. Far too many overhanging tree branches scraping against the car. They need to be pruned much more regularly and thinned out.
- In the cottage, the drain in the washbasin in the toilet/shower wasn’t working properly.
