Fireworks policy

In the Netherlands, private fireworks are banned and you are not allowed to set off any kind of firework. The park does not carry out checks, so we cannot guarantee a completely quiet and firework-free night. The region is home to the traditional ‘carbide shooting’ festival, a New Year’s Eve tradition that is also listed as intangible cultural heritage. It is also possible that fireworks may be set off in the immediate vicinity of the park.

The beach at the park isn’t really suitable for swimming, as there are lots of jellyfish, it’s dirty, smells unpleasant and is usually only knee-deep. Lovely towns such as Veere, Middelburg and Goes are nearby. The complex is new, clean, luxurious and spacious. The sauna is excellent. The double beds are actually single beds pushed together, which is a bit of a nuisance.

An absolutely lovely park – clean and in a stunning location. The staff (particularly the gardeners on site) were incredibly nice and friendly. The indoor playground is brilliant for children and it’s spotless too!

The park itself doesn’t seem to be quite finished. The four-person cottage we stayed in was nice and spacious – a bit warm, mind you – but with the doors and windows opposite each other open, there was a lovely draught. It did get a bit too warm in the bedrooms in the evenings.
We did miss a few little things, such as a dustpan to go with the dustbrush, but we were given one when we asked. The parasol base and one of the parasol poles were broken, but that was also sorted out properly after we reported it. The floor lamp in the living room was very wobbly: we didn’t use it.

The supermarket was well-stocked, including hot rolls and hot drinks.

The restaurants and cafés are pricey and the chips are poor.
There’s a lovely walking/cycling path nearby leading to the lake. Unfortunately, the water at the lakeside beach wasn’t really clean. There’s a good restaurant here, ‘de Meerkoet’.
Nearby towns such as Goes and Middelburg are easily accessible by car.
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

beautiful park with lots of flowers, well maintained. Nice play beach. Few trees so hardly any shade. Few outdoor play opportunities for children. indoor playground is nice. Info about house incomplete. Not clear whether bikes can be put in garden house and no info on presence of washing machine. House is spacious, also the bedrooms. Good mattresses. Garden fenced so ideal with small children. Unfortunately only 1 parasol and no shade spots. No curtains so quickly warm.
Cleaning left much to be desired, especially the kitchen. Oven, fridge and crockery not clean.
Shop and cafeteria is fine and staff friendly.
Extra charge for cot and highchair I find unacceptable at these prices.
Environment nice, but no real sandy beach nearby. All in all, we had a nice holiday.
