An absolute highlight is the nature reserve De Slufter with its impressive dune landscape and diverse birdlife. A visit to Ecomare is a great experience for families: there is a seal rescue centre here where injured and weakened animals are cared for. The island's capital is also well worth a visit, as is the Kaap Skil Museum in Oudeschild. The museum provides fascinating insights into Texel's maritime history and displays impressive artefacts from historic shipwrecks. It is easily accessible from Landal Sluftervallei. Fireworks policy
In the Netherlands, private fireworks are banned and you are not permitted to set off any kind of fireworks. The park does not carry out checks, so we cannot guarantee a completely quiet and fireworks-free night. The region is home to the traditional ‘carbide shooting’ festival, a New Year’s Eve tradition that is also listed as intangible cultural heritage. It is also possible that fireworks may be set off in the immediate vicinity of the park.
Cancellation
Free cancellation within 7 days is only possible if the booking was made more than 64 days before the start of the trip.
Swimming pool closed
The swimming pool will be closed from 11 January to 15 January 2027 inclusive.
