Camping L'Abri des Pins, a 4-star campsite located in Saint-Jean-de-Monts in the Vendée, is the ideal destination for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. In a friendly, well-kept environment, everyone can create a holiday to suit their tastes, from relaxation to leisure activities.

A lovely campsite with a lovely swimming pool. We went out of season; we didn’t see many staff, but the welcome was very warm and friendly. It was very relaxing. There was some sand left under the bed, the washbasin was blocked with hair, and there were a few small stains on my things – but apart from that, it didn’t stop us from having a lovely stay.

No recycling facilities, let alone a composting facility, as the other campsites have… I had to take mine all the way home. Very little attention is being paid to the drought and water restrictions. They still have gas boilers and hobs, which should be electric, powered by solar panels on each roof. The cabins are too close together; smoking is allowed both inside and outside the cabins. I had neighbours who chain-smoked, so I had to spend a lot of time indoors with the doors and windows closed… even on sunny days! Despite asking on arrival if I could use the back exit, I was told I could, only to be told ‘no’ later! All it would take is an electric barrier with a security pass. This would help with the overcrowding of cars in the event of a wildfire, etc.—you’d have no chance of getting out. The Wi-Fi is hopeless, even in the off-season; it’s very poor for a pay-per-use service!! The whole site needs reorganising and updating in line with climate action requirements!! Then it would be a great place to stay on holiday.

A very pleasant campsite, in a good location, close to the sea and set amongst a lovely pine-lined path; the young staff at the restaurant were very friendly; the campsite allows dogs, and La Parée des Joncs beach is dog-friendly all day long – I’ll be back!
