In the heart of the Périgord Noir, the Saint Avit Loisirs campsite offers you a real aquatic complex with its 4 swimming pools, including an exotic heated indoor pool with whirlpool bath, water slides, a wild river and a children's paddling pool.

During the summer school holidays, there is family entertainment and a kids' club for 4-11 year-olds. Many activities are available (with a charge): quad bikes, bungee trampolines, golf, etc.

The campsite offers useful and practical services to make your stay as comfortable as possible: a grocery shop, bread and pastries, bar, ice-cream parlour, snack bar offering takeaway meals or to eat in, and a traditional restaurant.

The children's club for 4-12 year olds is open every weekend in low season, and 5 days a week in April, July and August. Teenagers' club: July-August (13-17yrs)

Well, the accommodation is in the shade, which is brilliant. That said, the maintenance staff or whoever should take us right to the door of the rental so we don’t have to wander all over the campsite.

The campsite is really nice, and the staff are helpful and responsive. On the other hand, the internet connection was very poor; whilst it certainly helps you switch off, it makes it difficult to plan excursions (online bookings, travel arrangements, etc.). Our Mobilhome was designed for 4–6 people, but in the end, with just the four of us, we were a bit cramped… a shame.

The accommodation is very spacious. It’s really far from the communal areas, and the ground slopes upwards, so it’s not exactly encouraging to keep going back and forth. The facilities are dilapidated – a swimming pool with a ladder? Walking around the pools is disgusting; you go from dirt to dirty concrete and then into the pool. The pool rules aren’t being followed. There aren’t any sun loungers left free by 11 am, and they’re checked from 11 am onwards. Opening hours aren’t being adhered to. In fact, you can turn up whenever you like without worrying about waiting for it to open. There’s virtually no entertainment during the day – it’s dead quiet – and the evening entertainment is of absolutely no quality for a 5-star hotel! We’ve enjoyed high-quality entertainment for far less money elsewhere.
