Zomers Buiten is a nature-oriented campsite in the heart of the Veenkoloniën in Oude Pekela. Here you can expect peace and quiet, plenty of space and green surroundings, where you can start your day to the sound of birdsong and the scent of freshly mown grass. As an SVR and Fien & Teun campsite, the park places great emphasis on hospitality, sustainability and a family-friendly atmosphere.

Zomers Buiten offers everything you need for a relaxing stay in the countryside. Well-maintained toilet and shower facilities are available, and on site you’ll find, amongst other things, sports and play areas, a vegetable garden with edible herbs, fruit and vegetables, and a small edible woodland. There’s also a petting zoo, a fire pit for cosy campfire evenings (available on request) and bikes for hire so you can explore the surrounding area. Thanks to the personalised service and relaxed atmosphere, you’ll soon feel right at home here.

Families with children are particularly well catered for at Zomers Buiten. As an official Fien & Teun campsite, children learn about nature and life on the farm through play. They receive a welcome pack, can take part in nature activities, go on a farm treasure hunt and even earn a ‘farmer’s certificate’. There’s also a sandpit, playgrounds, a petting zoo with chickens, Ouessant sheep, a donkey and a goat, as well as the chance to help feed the animals. In the edible garden, children can also discover and harvest fruit, vegetables and herbs.

There is no restaurant or catering facility described on the campsite itself. If you don’t fancy cooking for yourself during your stay, you’ll find plenty of restaurants, cafés and brasseries in the surrounding area.
