Water sports play a major role at De Kuilart Holiday Park. The holiday park has its own marina, and you can hire boats and bikes, amongst other things. There are also opportunities for sailing and surfing, and you can play a game of tennis on the court. For indoor activities, there are four bowling lanes, and the holiday park also has two boules courts. For your daily shopping, you can visit the supermarket. Wi-Fi and a launderette are also available. This means you’ll find both practical amenities and plenty of opportunities for an active day out at the holiday park.
Facilities for children at De Kuilart Holiday Park
There are various play and sports facilities for children. In the large playground, they can, amongst other things, climb the climbing pyramid, play on the pirate ship and use the cable car. In addition, there are smaller play areas scattered throughout the holiday park, as well as a football pitch, a skate ramp and a table tennis table. During the summer holidays in the Northern Region, De Kuilart Holiday Park also organises a programme of activities for children aged approximately 3 to 12. In the morning, for example, arts and crafts are on the programme, whilst sports and games are organised later in the day.
De Kuilart Holiday Park Swimming Pool
The indoor swimming pool at De Kuilart Holiday Park offers water fun for all ages. The pool features three slides, including a speed slide with a speedometer and an eye-catching Cone slide. Changing rooms, lockers, showers and toilets are available. In fine weather, you can also make use of the outdoor swimming area with a sunbathing lawn and the large adjacent playground. The indoor swimming pool is open seven days a week, but the water play area and slides are not always available in the early and late seasons. Access to the swimming pool is included for guests staying at the holiday park.
Restaurant at De Kuilart Holiday Park
For food and drink, head to Grand Café It Skippershûs. Here you can sit down for lunch, coffee and a treat, a drink or dinner. In fine weather, the terrace by the water is a particularly lovely spot to sit, with a view of the boats passing by. For a quick bite to eat, the grand café also has a cafeteria serving, amongst other things, chips, snacks, ice cream and fresh pizzas. There’s also a special children’s menu, catering for families with children.
Surroundings of De Kuilart Holiday Park
From De Kuilart Holiday Park, you can explore the south-western corner of Friesland in various ways. By boat, you can sail across lakes and through canals to picturesque towns such as Hindeloopen or through the Wyldemerk nature reserve. The area is also ideal for cyclists: routes take you along the water’s edge, through water sports centres such as Heeg and Woudsend, and towards the forests of Gaasterland. Walkers can head to the Rijsterbos and the Mirnser Klif, amongst other places. Workum, Hindeloopen and Stavoren are also lovely destinations for a day out.
