About Golden Lakes Village
Positioned in an idyllic location, the sustainable Golden Lakes Village offers both peaceful nature lovers and watersports enthusiasts with the perfect view over the Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure. The perfect blend of greenery and water will guarantee relaxed evenings along the lakeside.
Facilities at Golden Lakes Village
Anyone who is a keen swimmer should feel right at home in Golden Lakes Village, located on the edge of a lake which happens to house the longest beach in Belgium, meaning that it’s perfect for anybody who loves to get involved in watersports, with diving, sailing and kayaking all on offer at the resort. The outdoor activities don’t stop there though, as you can find a 9-hole golf course, a cycling centre – complete with race tracks – as well as the lake itself being perfect for cycling around, and even opportunities for fishing. For those who prefer to swim in pools rather than open water, there is a swimming pool nearby that offers discounted access to guests at Golden Lakes Village. The villas themselves are stylish, luxurious and offer a breathtaking view over the Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure, and since they're made completely from wood they’re also eco-friendly, adding to the sustainable nature of the village.
Children’s facilities at Golden Lakes Village
Golden Lakes Village offers entertainment for children during the months of July and August, on top of a separate swimming pool from the main ones. For a small fee there is also an indoor playground that children can use, as well as having an indoor aquapark.
Restaurants at Golden Lakes Village
A small selection of restaurants can be found by walking approximately 10 minutes west of the main complex, including a snack bar, a pizzeria and a more traditional restaurant, which serves different types of grilled meat at reasonable prices. Breakfast can also be ordered and picked up from 9am onwards, and it is of course possible to cook entirely yourself - a Carrefour can be found in Cerfontaine (5km) after a beautiful drive alongside the lake.
Surroundings of Golden Lakes Village
Being in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes region means that there is a lot on the doorstep of Golden Lakes Village, close to picturesque French towns such as Givet (41km) and Rocroi (43km) which are both just under 40 minutes away. Roughly 30km in the opposite direction is the historic and former industrial Belgian city of Charleroi, where you can find plenty of opportunities to go shopping or museums to visit. Outside of cities, the caves of Neptune in Couvin (24km) and the Labuissière nature reserve (27km) are also worth a visit, and even if you would rather spend the whole time in the village, there’s plenty of beach along the lake for long strolls and bike rides.
